ABOUT THIS WATCH

The Jacob Pagani® Outlander is built around a clear idea: a diver-style watch that holds its presence on the wrist without asking for attention. Its rounded case, knurled rotating bezel, and bold dial markers give it a tool-watch character that feels equally at home in daily life and in moments that call for something more deliberate.

Construction centers on a stainless steel case and three-link bracelet, paired with a sapphire crystal that helps preserve visual clarity across lighting conditions. The ceramic rotating bezel adds a tactile, mechanical layer to the design, while the exhibition caseback reveals the Japan automatic movement at work, powered by the natural motion of the wrist rather than a battery. Water resistance of 100M extends its usability beyond the desk.

For the person who wears it, the Outlander becomes a daily companion: substantial enough to anchor an outfit, mechanical enough to reward a closer look, and finished with enough restraint to move easily between contexts.

A Bezel Built to Engage

The knurled edge of the ceramic bezel provides a confident grip, turning a simple rotation into a tactile part of the watch's everyday character.

Defined by Color and Contrast

The ceramic insert brings a saturated, long-lasting color to the bezel, giving the Outlander a distinct visual signature against its steel case.

A Dial That Shifts With Light

The sunray finish on the dial creates a radiating texture that catches light differently depending on the angle, adding depth to the watch face.

A Reference Point at 12 O'Clock

The triangular marker at 12 o'clock establishes an immediate visual reference point and reinforces the diver-inspired architecture of the dial.

The Movement on Display

The exhibition caseback keeps the movement visible, allowing the mechanics to remain part of the ownership experience.

The Outlander runs on a Japan automatic movement, powered by the natural motion of the wrist rather than a battery.

Brushed and Polished Surfaces

A combination of brushed and polished surfaces creates visual contrast throughout the bracelet, adding dimension to the overall design.

A Secure Fold-Over Clasp

The fold-over clasp is designed for a secure fit, keeping the bracelet in place throughout the day.

A Profile Built for Presence

Viewed from the side, the case reveals its full thickness and the crown positioned along its edge, underscoring the substantial build of the Outlander.

Automatic Winding System

The crown plays a key role in the watch's mechanical operation, used for setting the time and date while the movement winds automatically through wrist motion during normal wear.

Ordered the Pelagos in Emerald Depths and the green ceramic bezel against the steel case is more refined than I anticipated. Solid weight on the wrist and the bracelet integration is seamless.

The exhibition caseback was the deciding factor. Watching the Miyota movement through the window adds something to daily wear that a solid caseback simply cannot offer.

The Atlantic Sapphire arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. The blue ceramic bezel is deep and consistent in colour, and the sapphire crystal sits clear with no distortion over the dial.

At 40mm the Pelagos sits cleanly under a shirt cuff. The folding clasp holds with a precise action and after two months of daily wear there is nothing to fault.

The Abyssal Ink variant works across settings without feeling overdressed. Black dial with green bezel and steel case creates a contrast that is well judged and consistent throughout.

The Midnight Reef is understated in the best way. Black dial with black bezel and steel case reads as a serious watch without drawing unnecessary attention.

Third watch from Jacob Pagani and the Pelagos is the most complete. The ceramic bezel has no play, the movement keeps accurate time, and the bracelet wears comfortably throughout the day.
